Gramma Comes for a Visit

This past week, Gramma (Justin's Mom) came from Florida to visit us! We were really glad she came since we weren't able to see her and the rest of Justin's side of the family over the holidays. Owen warmed up to her right away when we picked her up at the airport and Savanna was so excited to see her that she didn't take a nap that day at school! The kids really loved having her around and we miss her already! We hope she comes back to visit us soon! We also hope Gramma enjoyed celebrating her birthday with us!

Here are pics of her visit:

So thoughtful of her to bring presents for the kids:

We decided to take Owen to the park and five minutes after we got there, it started raining, but at least he enjoyed swinging:

Hermosa Beach

Last Saturday, Savanna and I went to Hermosa Beach to attend my cousin's bridal shower. It was such a beautiful day! Who knew one could enjoy the beach in January? My cousin, Monique, is getting married in March and Savanna is going to be a flower girl in her wedding. Savanna is so excited and she even got to try on her dress! The bridal shower was a lot of fun and the theme was high tea at noon. The food was fabulous! You know me, I'm all about the food!

Here are pics from our fun day:

Happy 2009! And #100!!!!

Happy New Year everyone! We wish you all a healthy and prosperous new year.

We stayed home and watched the ball drop on tv. Owen was sick and had a fever so he went to bed very early. And for the first time ever, we let Savanna stay up 'til midnight with us! She was so excited and I knew she would have no problem staying up. For most of the night, she just laid on the couch and relaxed. But by the time midnight came rolling around, I knew she was really tired and she had a little meltdown. We calmed her down just in time to count the last few seconds before the new year started and she was fine. Then we sipped on apple cider and it was off to bed for her. She fell asleep quickly and we thought (or hoped) she would sleep in but we were wrong! She was up by 6:30am the following morning. So we're not sure if we'll be doing that again next year!

Here is Owen right before bed, can you tell he didn't feel well?

Justin and Savanna making silly faces on the couch:

This was right after Savanna's little meltdown, can you see the tears in her red eyes?

Now she's okay, and we're celebrating:

Max, too:
