Kindergarten Graduation

Savanna had her kindergarten graduation or as the school calls it, their "promotion" on Thursday, June 10th. They had a Hawaiian theme and all kids were asked to wear hawaiian outfits. Savanna's class and another class had their ceremony that day and the other classes were held on other days that week. I thought that was a great idea otherwise it would have been so packed and would have taken all day to call out all those names! I knew Savanna would be singing and dancing to hawaiian songs so I prepared myself to get teary eyed during the ceremony and boy, they didn't let me down. The ceremony was great and the kids did awesome singing and dancing.

Well I just tried to upload the videos and it's not working for some odd reason. I think blogger doesn't support the type of file that it is so until I figure out how to post it, I'm sorry you won't be able to see them.

But here are a bunch of pictures!

Here are the two classes together getting ready to sing:

For lunch we went to the cafe at the airport across from our neighborhood. It was fun watching the planes take off and land:

Justin bought a huge balloon and flowers for our little graduate:

This was the last day of school. Savanna gave her teacher at least 3 hugs before we left. We're going to miss her so much!

We now have a first grader! WOO HOO!!

The Storm

We went to watch the Lake Elsinore Storm play last Wednesday, the 9th. We received free tickets through a reading program Savanna joined at school. The Storm is the baseball team right below the San Diego Padres. It's nice to have a local team near us and the stadium is definitely smaller and there really are no bad seats. You can see pretty well from everywhere. Their mascot is Thunder and he visited Savanna's school a while ago to introduce the reading program and since then, she's been excited to see him again. He's very energetic and very funny to watch. Owen loved watching him too.

Here's Thunder:

On the other side of the stadium, there is a Kids Zone where you can roll down the grassy hill or play in the jumper/slide. Looked like fun:

Last Kinder Field Trip

The week before Savanna graduated from Kindergarten, her class and the 5 other kindergarten classes got to take one last field trip! They went to the local sports park and the rest of us got to join in on the fun too! There were over 100 kids there and it was quite crazy! But they all had fun and got lots of energy out. Each class was responsible for bringing a certain activity, like bubbles, hula hoops, a parachute, etc. and it was so much fun watching all of the kids play together. I love this sports park because it's newer and both playgrounds are covered which kept the heat at bay.

Ready for a day of play:
