Happy Birthday...

...to me!! Yes, today I turned another year younger! Ha ha! My birthday celebration started last night. I went out with three girlfriends and we had a blast! We had dinner and a few drinks and shared some wonderful adult conversation! A much needed change every once in a while since I'm always surrounded by kids! Then today I woke up and found some cute surprises waiting for me downstairs. I got a beautiful bouquet of roses, two cards and a cute poster written by Savanna saying Happy Birthday Mom! It was too cute! Then Justin took me out for dinner tonight but before we left for dinner they sang to me and I blew out the candles on my cake! Dinner was a fabulous time. I ate way too much as usual but it was soooooo good! The food, service, ambiance of the restaurant was perfect! A great way to end my birthday! Thank you to everyone who emailed and called to wish me a great day! I love you all!!

Slip 'n Slide Fun

Since it was so hot yesterday, Justin put the slip 'n slide together for Savanna to have fun with! At first she didn't understand how to slide down on her belly, but eventually she got the hang of it. She almost preferred having Justin pull or push her down the slide, which was fun too! Owen was asleep when they first started using it, but when he woke up, I got him dressed in his swim gear and he loved crawling up and down the slide and playing in the water.

Dog Days of Summer

Throughout all of my posts on this blog, which is all about updates on the kids, I've totally forgotten about our third kid, our yellow lab, Max!!! Max is actually our first kid, well Justin's really, since he got Max as a college graduation gift to himself. Max is now 7 1/2 years old and is still playful, loving, and very obedient.

Yesterday, we took Max to his favorite place, Dog Beach! It's a place where dogs can run off leash and go into the ocean and have fun, just like the rest of us! We haven't taken Max there in a long time and he was so excited when we pulled into the parking lot! He got to play and run with lots of other dogs and swim in the ocean, which he loves so much! After about an hour, he got pretty tired so we headed home. I'm sure Max will want to go there again soon!

Happy 10 Months Owen!

Yesterday, Owen turned 10 months old!!! His teeth are finally starting to come out. He has two so far, one upper and one lower. They are hard to see but I can tell they've broken through his gums. He's been sticking his fingers in his mouth a lot and loves to chew on everything, including my hair! Silly kid! Some of the newer foods that Owen has tried lately are chicken, beef, fish, pasta, rice, corn, cheese and eggs. He loves to eat! Owen has also picked up clapping and loves to climb the stairs and is getting quicker at it everyday. He enjoys playing and laughing with his big sister, they really are too cute together!!

First Haircuts!!!!

Today was a big day! Savanna and Owen got their hair cut for the first time! We took them to a salon that specialized in cutting kids hair. It was a great place! Savanna got to pick out a video to watch while she was sitting in the chair and she picked one out for Owen, too. They both did extremely well! We also got a certificate, some locks to keep as a souvenir, and a picture of their new hairdo!

After the haircut, Savanna got to pick what kind of style she wanted. She picked a princess bun and she absolutely loved it:
