I.
AM.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO.
SORRY.
Please forgive me for not updating in over two months! Things at the Thompson Household have been quite crazy. And it started pretty much right after Savanna graduated from preschool, so hence the no blogging. My apologies, again.
So let's back up two months to the beginning of July. Justin and I decided that we needed to sell our house. At first I was very upset and didn't want to move, because, who likes packing and moving anyway? I don't. Plus we were in the best school district and within walking distance to the #1 elementary school. One of the main reasons we moved there in the first place. But after looking at the overall picture and with much persuasion from Justin, we decided it was best for our future to sell.
Then the next question was where would we live? At first I just wanted to rent in the area so Savanna could start kindergarten at that #1 elementary since she was already enrolled and looking forward to going there. But ultimately, we decided that purchasing a house was a better idea. So we started our search in the Temecula/Murrieta area which is about 45 minutes north of us. They have some huge homes for very reasonable prices. Then we received word from our real estate agent that we got an offer on our home the first day it went on the market! We were so surprised! By then we knew we needed to get a move on finding a new home. We went up on a weekend with our realtor and looked at a bunch of houses. We loved three of them so we made offers on all three. We found out two out of the three already had offers in before us, so the third one (which was my top pick) was accepted! We were ecstatic!
Then I found out that the elementary school in that neighborhood started earlier than everyone else! So I had to get a move on registering Savanna for kindergarten. That was fine, but then I realized that I was going to have to commute up to Murrieta everyday and stay up there while Savanna was in school. Luckily she's only in class for 3 1/2 hours. Not too bad, right? Well I've been doing the commute (almost an hour each way) for almost three weeks and hopefully I won't have to do it anymore by the end of this week. Keep your fingers crossed for me because that commute is tiring! And I feel so bad for Owen because he is in the car A LOT. But we have been really lucky to have a few friends that have offered to let us hang out with them at their home and it has helped so much! Especially with this heat wave we're having! Ugh, when is it going to cool down?
Savanna was so excited to go to school! We were so proud of her! The evening before the first day of school was back to school night and Savanna got to meet her teacher and see her classroom and her desk too! Savanna was put into a K/1 combo class, meaning her class is a combination of Kindergarteners and 1st graders. I was a little unsure of that at first, but I think she's doing great so far!
So here are pictures from Savanna's first day of Kindergarten:
