Happy 7th Birthday Savanna!

Yesterday, my one and only daughter turned 7 years old! I can't believe she is 7 already! To celebrate her birthday, we went to the fair. It's an annual family tradition for us and one that we always look forward to.

Before we left, Savanna opened up a few of her presents. Then we packed up and headed down to San Diego. Justin took the day off for this special occasion and we all had a great time together!

The morning of. She was so excited it was finally her birthday:

Finally at the fair. We parked at the horse park (cuz it's free!) and the kids were excited to ride the bus over to the fairgrounds:

This year's theme: Race to the Fair

Since it was Savanna's birthday, she got to pick what we did first. She wanted to go on the Pirate Ride! Owen didn't like this ride last year and kept saying he didn't want to ride it again but when we got there, he said he wanted to ride it:
Oh no! Owen's stomach got that funny feeling again and he did not like it at all:
Now it was Owen's turn to pick the ride since he endured that horrible pirate ride, lol! He picked the race cars and his sister was nice enough to go along for the ride:
Next up was Owen's favorite ride, the Bumble Bee (I'm not sure if that's what it's really called but it's Owen's favorite song from school so we just call it that):
Then Savanna convinced me to go on this Dragon ride with her. I don't know what I was thinking saying yes because this is one of those teacup-like rides where you spin in circles! And I get dizzy easily now in my old age, hahaha!
After all those rides, we were ready to eat. First up was cotton candy for the kids:
Then for the adults, we got a Tater Dog and Tater Twists. So good:
Something new this year that I wanted to try was the Chocolate Covered Corn Dog (it's small because on Tuesdays you can get sample sizes of certain food for cheaper so that's what I did) and it was really good too. The chocolate taste really dominated and the kids loved it, of course:
Gavin was pooped by then so it was nappy nap time for him:
After all that food, we decided to walk around and look at all the animals. We found the petting/feeding area and I took the kids in to feed the sheep, goats, and cows:

For some reason, I really enjoyed feeding this cow and could have done it all day:
Aren't they cute:
Petting a bunny:
Then we got our appetite back again so it was time to eat! This time, we got a blooming onion, grilled corn and:
Mexican Funnel Cake (yummy!):
Owen was spent by then so it was his turn to take a nappy nap in the stroller:
We walked around a little bit more and looked at what all the vendors were selling. Before Owen fell asleep he wanted ice cream, so when he woke up we got some soft serve for both of them:
Before we left, we picked up some kettle korn to eat in the car on the way home:
On the bus ride back to the car:
For dinner, we let Savanna pick where she wanted to eat. How they could still be hungry was beyond me! But she picked McDonalds(!) so we went with it. She got a yogurt parfait for dessert so we stuck a candle in it and sang Happy Birthday to her:

Happy Birthday sweet girl! We hope you enjoyed your day and we love you very much!!!

Storm Campout

Last Friday, Savanna and I joined her girl scout troop at the Lake Elsinore Storm baseball game and campout! We have been very excited about this event for a while and finally it was here! Basically after the baseball game was over, a bunch of girl scouts got to camp in tents on the baseball field! How exciting, right?! We even enjoyed fireworks after the game and the Storm won the game to top it off! I didn't get any pictures during the game because I forgot my camera in the car and we were parked pretty far away so I didn't feel like going back to get it.

After the game was over, Savanna and I headed back to the car so we could move it closer to the gates. Then we gathered all of our camping gear and headed down to the field to set up! While I was setting up the tent, Savanna got the opportunity to run the bases! I wish I could have snapped some pics of that. Then they announced that they would be serving some late night snacks before Tangled was going to be shown on the big screen in right field. It was already 11:30pm by the time the movie started so I wasn't sure if Savanna would stay up the whole time. We did enjoy our snacks while snuggling under our sleeping bag waiting for the movie to start. Savanna managed to stay up until 12:30am! I was surprised she stayed up that late, but she started complaining her head was hurting so I knew it was time for her to go to bed! She fell asleep in less than a minute and it was so cute watching her sleep while I finished the movie. We had such a great time and can't wait to do it again! The next morning, they served breakfast and then we packed up and headed home. I really enjoyed having some alone time with Savanna. She has grown up so fast before my eyes and I really can't believe she's turning 7 tomorrow!!

Here are some pics from the campout:

School's Out for Summer!

School has been out for a little over a week now and let me tell you, I have been enjoying sleeping in finally! Hahaha! :) The kids have loved staying up a little later and hence the sleeping in for all of us.

Owen had a little promotion ceremony during his last week of school. They sang some really cute songs and then had an ice cream party afterwards.

When Owen and the rest of the kids first came out, they were holding the ceremony's program with their picture on it taken on the first day of school. It was so cute to compare the picture to how much they've grown in a year. Here is Owen with his program:

That's cute lil Owen in the middle with the orange flower:

This mask was for the Monster Boogie song:

Here he is ready to do the Penguin Flop song:

I'm sure you're wondering where the video is, right? Well, I did take video but almost all of them are pretty shaky because Gavin was super cranky during the whole ceremony and I was swaying back and forth trying to get him to calm down while shooting video. So I will just spare you all the shaky video with the whining from Gavin in it! :)

After all the songs were done, Owen's teacher called each student up to officially promote them to Pre-K. Here he is in his gown:

The whole ceremony was really cute! We are so proud of how far Owen has come since the start of this school year. We are very grateful to Owen's teachers for everything they have done for him. And we are excited for him to enter into Pre-K!

Savanna didn't have a ceremony. I guess after Kinder, nothing official takes place until 5th grade. She did enjoy not having homework during the last two weeks of school. And she really liked having all of her friends sign her first yearbook! She was a little sad and quiet after school let out. But I managed to get her to smile with her teacher so I could take a picture:

Summer break is only about two months long for the kids so we're excited to do some fun activities!!!
