June 2012: Blueberry Picking

We took a trip, a local trip, to the Temecula Berry Farm back in June.  I had heard of a blueberry farm close by before but never got a chance to go until last month.  And I'm so happy we went!  All of the kids absolutely LOVE blueberries and the berries at this farm are so sweet.  And what better way to support our community, right?  We were joined by my cousin, Carolyn and her family since they now live so close to us (yay!) and all of the kids had a great time picking berries.  And sometimes eating them right off the branch.  Shhh!!!

June 2012: Savanna's Last Day of Second Grade

Second grade sure flew by for Savanna.  Or at least I thought it did.  Savanna absolutely loved her teacher and we were both really sad when her last day of school came around.  Her last week of school was all about having fun.  They had a day where they wore pj's, watched movies and had popcorn.  Then another day was a kickball tournament with other second grade classes.  On her last day of school, they signed yearbooks and kickball shirts and played their last game of kickball.  I decided to come a little early to watch and take pics, of course!

Her teacher was covering up her tears behind the sunglasses but it made me cry!

May 2012: Father's Day BBQ

Since Father's Day occurs in June after school gets out, Owen's preschool celebrated Father's Day in May.  Justin was able to attend the BBQ and Owen was so happy to see him!  Their first craft was to decorate a frame with different colored tissue paper.  And then they played some games and after enjoyed their bbq lunch.

May 2012: How Does Your Garden Grow?

Savanna performed in her second play of the year titled "How Does Your Garden Grow?"  Her part in the play was a Pansy Flower.  We enjoyed putting her costume together.  We basically bought a yellow shirt and a bouquet of fake pansies and glued them onto the shirt.  I also crocheted her a pansy headband and a pansy to wear on each wrist.

The whole play was really cute!  As always, her class pairs up with another first grade class (same teacher she had last year) and they performs two plays a year.  I was actually kind of sad that this second play has come and gone because it meant the end of second grade was near.

Here are some pictures from the play:

May 2012: Mother's Day Tea

Where have the last two and a half months gone?!  Oh boy, well here I am...playing catch up...again.

During May, Owen's preschool always celebrates Mother's Day by throwing a little tea party.  It's so cute and I was really excited about it this year!  I was able to get my cousin to watch Gavin for me so I could enjoy Owen and focus completely on him.  I loved every minute of it.

As I walked up to the door, I was greeted by Owen and he took my hand and showed me where our table was and where my seat was.  We sat down and waited for all the other moms and kids to be seated.  Then once everyone was there, we were treated to a few songs sang by the kids.  Here's a cute one:

Then we ate lunch and after that we got to open our gifts.  I was presented with a cement circle with Owen's handprint on it along with a CD that had a bunch of lovely motherly songs on it!  It was fabulous!  I really love these little events that Owen's preschool puts on.
